If you are anything like me, you have a big dream you are moving toward. A dream that excites you, scares you, wakes you up early, and whispers to you in quiet moments. That dream is the destination. But the path to get there is built from something much smaller.
Your steps.
For years, I would finish step one of five and keep right on going without any acknowledgement. No pause. No smile. No "girl, you did that." I was chasing the big win so hard that I forgot the beauty of the journey, the transformation happening in the middle, and the part where you are supposed to celebrate progress.
And let me tell you, skipping the small wins is a quick way to burn out as a side hustler.
The Moment Everything Shifted
I almost stopped pursuing my dream of helping people use meditation to manage stress. Between working full time, juggling responsibilities, and wanting to serve others, I felt overwhelmed. I asked myself, "How do I fit this in?"
And then people started asking for help. Family. Friends. Co workers. They wanted clarity, rest, and peace. They trusted me with something important. That was a small win. And I almost missed it.
I realized I had already started living my dream. I just had not celebrated it.
Why We Forget The Small Steps
Many purpose driven hustlers and weekend warriors skip the celebration because:
We think progress only counts when the big thing happens
We compare our pace to others who look like they are moving faster
We believe pausing slows us down
We never want to feel "behind"
We treat rest and celebration like luxury rather than fuel
But the truth is simple. Your small steps are shaping the person who reaches the big dream.

The Power Inside The Journey
Confidence grows in the middle
Every completed step tells your mind, "I can do this." That is how confidence is built. Step by step.
Discipline grows in the middle
Success is not one dramatic moment. It is consistent, imperfect action.
Clarity grows in the middle
As you take steps, you discover what aligns, what drains you, and what builds energy. The journey
teaches you what the dream actually requires.
Your story grows in the middle
Your clients, followers, and future community connect to your process long before they connect to your results.
Gratitude grows in the middle
When you finally reach the big dream, you appreciate it at a deeper level because you know how much you grew along the way.
Humor Break: The Steps We Never Celebrate
Let us be real for a moment. I used to:
Wake up early three days in a row and not clap once
Finish a blog draft and act like I only brushed my teeth
Launch something and immediately stress about the next task
Why do we celebrate the big launch day but not the many drafts, edits, attempts, and late night breakthroughs that got us there?
The journey deserves its flowers too.
Take a Pause and Reflect
Before you scroll away, breathe in slowly.
Think about one small step you took this week. Not the big thing. Not the perfect thing. The small step.
That tiny moment is part of the dream unfolding.
You are not behind. You are building. You are becoming.
Your Dream Needs Your Steps
Your big dream is waiting for you. But you do not leap from start to finish. You walk your way there. You evolve your way there. You grow your way there.
The steps may feel small, but they matter. They shape who you are becoming on the path to the dream you desire. 🫶🏾
